Location: 370 Ridgewood Rd. Key Biscayne, FL
Year Completed: 2010
370 Ridgewood Rd. was one of the first residential houses in Key Biscayne done in a pre-existing concrete structure where the owner had already started the construction of a new house, but later changed his mind into giving a more modern touch to the whole. It is a complete concrete structural house with stucco finish with metal roofing.
The spatial organization of the house, like many of the projects that followed it, is based on a programmatic separation between public and praivate areas. Every person in the household is intended to have a private place for sleeping, bathing and relaxing. The private part of the house is the second floor with 4 rooms plus a master bedroom. The public spaces where the family meets and entertains are at the rear of house overlooking the pool and social exterior areas. The internal circulation system of the house reinforces the organizational and formal themes. Vertical circulation links the private with the public areas.
